When an Indian family and a Pakistani family become next-door neighbours in Vancouver, every headline, cricket match, political flare-up, festival and cultural rivalry from back home spills across their shared fence — turning suburban life into a hilarious miniature version of India-Pakistan relations.
THE STORY
India and Pakistan may be thousands of kilometres away. But for two immigrant families living next door in Vancouver, the border is now a wooden fence between their backyards. Whenever something happens back home, it somehow reaches them too. A cricket match becomes war. A political headline changes who is speaking to whom. Food becomes national pride. Festivals become competitions. Even films, celebrities and family gossip can trigger another cross-border crisis. Each episode begins with a familiar India-Pakistan spark and turns it into a very personal neighbourhood battle. But beneath the arguments, one truth keeps getting harder to ignore: the two families are far more alike than they are different.
